OPTOR S.A. the Company
In 1956 Luis Torrents, president of "Optica Torrents" of Barcelona, gives birth to the first PEGASO glasses, designed and crafted for ENASA, very important company of automobile industry and manufacturer of PEGASO trucks.
In 1977 Mario Gorina takes over the leadership of the company and starts a new period, marked by a high specialization in eye protection, and a clear bet for quality. This, together with a stict policy based on the defense of its distributors, took the company to a leadership in the Spanish market.
In 1980 the volume of work obliges to move into a bigger headquarter in C/ Mimosas de Barcelona.
In 1992, CE strict rules come into force, OPTOR, SA - PEGASO takes active part in their creation an aplication in Spain, especially in the INSHT in Sevilla, being one of first to offer its products with certification.
In 1997 Ivan Gorina enters the company, giving continuity and new impulses to the company's continuous effort of improvement, starting an international expansion of PEGASO trend.
In 2006, on the occasion of Optor's 50th anniversary and of the need of a bigger and more efficient space, a new headquarter is projected and constructedin the ALMEDA industrial area, in Cornellá (Barcelona).
In this new headquarter we will go on with our continuous effort to offer the best quality and design to eye protection, in order to give satisfaction to users and distrubutors.
